Disney California Adventure Park, Again!

After our first day at Disney California Adventure (DCA) just three days prior, and an overall three days total of Disneyland parks already under our belts, we were prepared for a fun-filled Day four of four! Hoping this overview of our itinerary for a leisurely day at DCA is helpful to you if you’re considering and/or planning a Disneyland vacation, especially if your family is similar in composition to ours!

Our family consists of Grandma, Mom, Dad, 10-year-old AJ and 6-year-old LJ, and it should be noted that LJ doesn’t like rides with drops or any scary/borderline scary ride, so although on our Day 1 DCA visit, he rode Soarin’ Around the World (Soarin’) because we asked him to, and Radiator Springs Racers because he loves Lightning McQueen and the Cars crew, he sat those out this time. Although his brother didn’t ride Pixar Pal-A-Round with us on our Day 1 DCA visit, LJ did though, and we are super proud that he did and was fine during the entire ride! This goes to show that there are rides that your children may surprise you with wanting to go on. That said, we chose not to do Pixar Pal-A-Round on this visit to DCA, but to, instead, leisurely stroll around Pixar Pier trying new snacks, foods, and drinks, which we didn’t do on our Day 1 visit. Keep in mind that your family may have different “must ride” attractions, so when reviewing lists of rides and attractions that our family enjoyed, please keep in mind all the things I’ve mentioned here, and think of what works best for your family.

After hopping onto my Disneyland app before 7 AM to get ready to quickly grab a limited spot (a.k.a. boarding group) for WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure, we got dressed and headed to the park. We arrived at the park at about 8:30 AM, planning to hit a few rides before breakfast. Before the rides, though, we started with photo ops by the waterfall and Cars Land. Anyhoooo… on to the rides and attractions in the order in which we did them:

·      WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure

·      Shopping at the Avengers Campus WEB store

·      Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree – Allan, AJ, LJ, and my mom all enjoyed this while I walked to the hotel to drop off the huge bag of items we bought. Then LJ and I rode this together to make up for the ride I missed earlier.

·      Flo’s V8 Café (brunch for the boys)

·      Cozy Cone (brunch for me)

·      Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters

·      Radiator Springs Racers

·      Soarin’

·      Monster’s Inc. Mike & Sulley To The Rescue

·      Mickey’s Philharmagic

·      Turtle Talk With Crush

·      Animation Academy

·      Jessie’s Critter Carousel

·      Toy Story Midway Mania

·      Lamplight Lounge (dinner)

Throughout the day, we enjoyed photo ops at Avengers Campus and Pixar Pier, and at this point, we had gotten on the rides we wanted for the day, so we spent much of the afternoon enjoying snacks, foods, and treats at Pixar Pier while watching and listening to folks screaming on the Incredicoaster, right next to us! We shopped a bit more for souvenirs and strolled around Radiator Springs, Pixar Pier, and Avengers Campus after the entire park lit up for the evening. We were actually in Radiator Springs when the lights came on to the tune of Sh-Boom / Life Could Be A Dream, just like in the first Disney/Pixar Cars movie! Then, we realized that throughout DCA, everywhere was festively in lights! It was great!

We left the park at a few minutes before 9 PM just in time to settle in at the Tropicana Inn & Suites and watch the Mickey’s Mix Magic fireworks from our suite’s balcony at 9PM.

With so much to see and do, what’s your favorite thing at Disney California Adventure Park (DCA)?

If you haven’t yet been there, but you’ve watched our vlogs, what do you think you’ll like best?
